Sources selection for searching
Below are shown the sigla of all the source texts available for searching.
Clicking on a siglum will show the full bibliographical details of the item concerned.
If there is a check mark in the box to the left of the siglum, the source is selected and
will be included in your searches. If the check mark box is empty, the source will not be
searched. To begin with, all sources are selected.
You may select or unselect individual sources by clicking on the check box to the left
of their siglum. If you wish to search only a very small number of sources, the best way
to achieve this is to unselect "All Sources" at the top of the list, then locate and
re-select the items that interest you. Conversely, if you wish to exclude only a small
number of sources, leave All Sources selected to begin with, then unselect only those items
you want to exclude (which will automatically unselect All Sources).
Alternatively, the sources have been divided into text-type groups (purely to
make selection easier: these groupings do not claim to represent even a crude taxonomy
of the actual sources). You can select or unselect all the members of a text-type group
with a single click on the check box to the left of the group name. You may select or
unselect more than one group if you wish. You can then fine-tune any group selection(s) by
selecting or unselecting individual sigla from any part of the list.
When you are satisfied with your selection, you may begin searching by entering a term
into the form above. A list of matches will then appear to the left, and any selections
you make from that list will appear as a KWIC listing in place of the sources selector display.
The sources selection you make will remain in force across all the searches
you make in your session, unless you choose to change it. You can do this at any time
by selecting the "View Sources Selection" link near the top of the display. This will
cause this screen to re-appear so that you can adjust your selection, which will then
be applied in all subsequent searches.
