	Financial, technical and material assistance
	AHRC The digitisation of AND2 A-E and of AND1 G-Z using TEI markup, now completed, and the creation of the IT infrastructure to deliver the material, was funded by grants from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (formerly Board) of the United Kingdom under its Resource Enhancement Scheme. The digitisation and electronic publication of Anglo-Norman sources and scholarly articles on this site, completed in April 2007, was funded by the same body under the same scheme. The revision of AND2 F-H, now completed and on-line since late 2007, was likewise funded by the AHRC, in this case via a Major Research Grant, and a further Major Research Grant is funding the revision of AND2 I-M between 2007 and 2012
	MHRA The Modern Humanities Research Association, co publisher with ANTS of the first edition of the Anglo-Norman Dictionary, provided material support to the AND editors during the first phase of the preparation of AND2 A-E, commissioned additional expert reviews of the A-E material, and published the print version of A-E in conjunction with Maney Publishing.
	ANTS The Anglo-Norman Text Society, co-publisher of the AND1, has generously granted permission (dependent where applicable on the additional consent of the editors concerned) for the digitisation and, in due course, electronic publication of its entire list of Anglo-Norman Texts on this site, and their full integration with the Dictionary Entries.
	TEI The digitisation of all the materials on this site, but especially the Dictionary entries, has been greatly assisted by the work of the Text Encoding Initiative, both through the resources it makes freely available to Humanities scholarship, and via specific advice on detailed encoding issues given by TEI members and associates.
	DDB The electronic infrastructure of the on-line AND is based on software first developed for the Digital Dictionary of Buddhism and used for Web publication of that resource for the past seven years. The willingness of Charles Muller, Managing Editor of the Dictionary, to entrust his data to a delivery platform that used as yet untried and novel XML technologies, combined with subsequent responses and suggestions from users of the DDB, have ensured that the on-line AND could be opened to the public using what was already a well-tried system.

	Scholarly co-operation and Academic Partnerships
	DEAF The AND has a long-standing association with the Dictionnaire Étymologique de l’Ancien Français (DEAF). Elsewhere on this site, we have detailed how the generosity of the DEAF, and in particular of its captain, Frankwalt Möhren, enables us to display directly, via links from our own List of Texts, the corresponding DEAF bibliography entries. Cooperation and collaboration between the AND, and now AND2, go far beyond this, however, and it is a pleasure to record here the AND’s gratitude to the DEAF for personal and scholarly assistance over many years.
	Base de français médiéval A more recent connection has been established with the Base de français médiéval, a joint project of the CNRS, Université Lumière Lyon 2, and Ecole Normale Supérieure (Lettres et Sciences Humaines), Lyon, directed by Christiane Marchello-Nizia. This project is engaged in a large-scale digitisation of Old French texts using TEI-conformant markup and – in order to avoid needless duplication of work – we exchange texts, where this is technically and legally possible. Please note, however, that the textbase of that project (bfm.ens-lsh.fr/) is not currently accessible because of a legal dispute.
	ATILF The project has informal connections with the CNRS/Nancy-2 institute, ATILF (Analyse et Traitement Informatique de la Langue Française; formerly Institut national de la Langue française), and there has long been cooperation between the AND editors and ATILF colleagues working on historical aspects of French, and in particular on the FEW and the Dictionnaire du Moyen Français.
