pestrer2 (s.xiii)

[ gdw]

[ FEW: *8,603a pistrire; Gdf: ; GdfC: ; TL: ; DEAF:  pestrir (*); DMF: ; TLF: ; OED: ; MED: ; DMLBS: ]

The word is not attested elsewhere (the noun for ‘kneader’, associated with verb pestrer1 is normally pestrisseor – not attested in Anglo-Norman, but see DMF pétrisseur) and it is not impossible that its use here is a mistake for pestur (‘baker’).

s.

1occupationone who kneads the dough, baker

pestrer#1  pestrie  pestrine#1  pestrisun  pestrur
