It is unclear whether this term, occurring in a letter from the king of England to the council of Guyenne, is a specifically Gascon word used for small barrels for transporting wine (otherwise not attested), or whether it should be interpreted as a form of hoggeshed (cf. OED hogshead n. which lists the variant spelling hoggett), referring to what is normally a larger type of barrel.
