A rare word, also in English and Continental French, with possible confusion with or¹ (cf. the variant of Pet Phil 954) and ure¹ (cf. the Dest Rome citation). Those variants ending in -e could also be interpreted as ending in -é, in which case they should be considered variants of oré¹ (see commentary box of that article).
