purpostement (c.1230)

[ hap]

[ FEW: 8,71a pausare; Gdf: 6,438c proposeement; GdfC: ; TL: ; DEAF:  proposer (proposeement); DMF: ; TLF: ; OED: ; MED: ; DMLBS: ]

The editor notes that purpost is a possible variant for propos and so this word could be considered a variant of proposément (not extant in AN) and thus translated as ‘intentionally’. This sense, however, does not match with the sense of the Latin paene which it is translating.
