quariie (s.xiii)

[ gdw]

[ FEW: *2/ii,1400b quadrus; Gdf: ; GdfC: ; TL: ; DEAF: ; DMF: ; TLF: ; OED:  quar n.1 / quarry n.2; MED:  quar n. / quarrei n.; DMLBS: 2616b quarrarius /2617b quarria ]
quara
M.E. (?)

This form, with elision of the unstressed syllable of quarraria, is also found in medieval Latin and Middle English and becomes the standard English word. It is rare in Anglo-Norman (as a synonym of quarrere) and appears only in these two glosses. It is unclear whether this instance of syncope is a genuine Anglo-Norman process, or whether the word is a borrowing from Middle English (or, as the OED suggests, even a scribal error, perhaps through the omission of an -er- abbreviation symbol).
